Brothers RLFC achievements were wide and varied. We led the way out onto training paddock earlier than most, fielded rugby league teams from U6 to A grade – 50 teams in most dynamic circumstances battling COVID-19 restrictions, successfully participated in the Mackay Seniors RL competition, won the Club Championships for both the juniors and seniors competitions, participated in 11 out of a possible 12 age group grand finals – 3 Senior grades and 8 Junior age groups (U12 to U17 inclusive of U14 / U16 girls teams), successfully marketed our brand and the great game of rugby league during these very hard times and lastly, during the off season, all lighting on fields 3 and 4 was converted over to LED at tremendous cost.
These achievements would not have been possible if it were not for the loyalty, vision, fortitude and steadfast commitment of our sponsors, players, coaching staff, supporters, Leagues Club and all our members. Big thanks to all for our journey and what had been achieved. I also want to thank and acknowledge the demonstrated loyalty and commitment from the 2020 Brothers RLFC Board - Vice Presidents Steve Olsen and Jennah Stevenson, Secretary Lyndal McCarth and Board members - Adam Peluchetti, Scott Weatherall, Sean Fairburn, Craig Briskey and Tennyson Elliott. I also thank and acknowledge, the tireless and wonderful work of Jaime Collas, the administration guru and ‘go to’ person that gave it her all when COVID-19 hit with a bang. Our apparel coordinator, Tennille Olsen, thanks for your excellent work in the apparel space, without your dedication to the job at hand, we would not have been so well placed to deliver on jerseys and apparel for our players, coaching staff and members overall.
This Club is well placed to succeed in 2021. On behalf of your 2021 Board, Sean Fairburn (Vice President), Lyndal McCarthy (Secretary), Adam Peluchetti, Scott Weatherall and Kat Goodwin, I wish each and everyone of you a happy and rewarding 2021 footy season. Hoping to see you all back at the Club soon, cannot wait for kick off!!!
Kind regards
Roger Whyte
President Brothers RLFC
The 2020 Rugby League season was both rewarding and challenging for all concerned. Hard work, planning, team work, vision, tenacity and that ‘Brothers will’ to get things done, led to path of success, when most others floundered.
